Semaglutide is a medication for chronic weight management used in conjunction with diet and exercise. When used in conjunction with lifestyle changes, this weight loss drug can be effective in helping patients lose excess weight. It comes in the form of a semaglutide injection 2.4 mg. It is manufactured by the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. Semaglutide is an under-the-skin, self-administered injectable prescription medicine for chronic weight management, used in addition to a reduced-calorie diet and increased exercise. It is for patients with either:
•A body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m2 or greater
•A BMI of 27 kg/m2 or greater with at least one weight-related ailment such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, or others.

Semaglutide is FDA approved for weight loss in obese or overweight patients who also have another weight related condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or others.
